Rio21 is a trading company specialised in importing and exporting goods and food from Brazil to several countries around the world. It was founded in 2016, but it was born with a background of more than 20 years of experience in international trade.
Rio21 has in its founders a backing of decades of dedication to foreign trade, providing the company security and reliability in the advisory and operational process of sending and/or receiving products to and from abroad.
The founder’s story began in the early 2000s within a shipping company that rented ships to transport goods out of Brazil, with soybeans being the main product transported. In 2011, after a period of studies in Spain, he established an international partnership that resulted in a company called Brazfoods, with headquarters in Kuwait, specialised in the export of Brazilian foodstuffs – such as açaí, coconut and Brazil nuts ice cream – to Middle Eastern countries. Currently, Brazfoods remains responsible for all operations in the Middle East.
Rio21 emerged from the experience in the import and export business acquired with Brazfoods, combined with the identification of the growing demand for advice and management of the sale of new products in international trade.
